After the holidays followed by a week of traveling to visit family up north, I feel as though this has been my first real week back to reality in 2020, and it’s been a busy one! A new year, a new construction contract, a new listing, and lots of new goals and habits forming for the new year ahead! I’m intentionally taking time for gratitude and joy in the new year, and while that often brings about deep appreciation for all that my family has been blessed with, it often is sometimes the little things that bring a smile to my day. I thought I’d share some things currently bringing me happiness with you!
Here are five new things I am loving this month…
1. Heel tights. Seriously…until I started my new at home barre fitness program, I had no idea they made leggings designed extra long to go over your heels and keep your feet warm during barefoot workouts. Life changing! And then you slip on your Uggs, and you’re out the door for school drop off! Just bought this pair from Athleta on sale!
2. Our new drop zone! Can’t brag on hubby enough for building me EXACTLY what we needed. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know our “shoe pile” was at the top of my pet peeve list. Decluttering a space in your home, even a small one, can bring so much joy and reduce stress and anxiety with a calm and attractive visual. Drop zones are basically a necessity if you have kids, and they are an AMAZING selling point for your house! There are tons of creative ideas on Pinterest for even the smallest of spaces!
3. The Italian Wedding Soup from Half Baked Harvest…made this soup last night for dinner, and it was a hit! I love the lemony flavor and the chicken meatballs were delish! Plus…lots leftover for lunches or another dinner! It’s been SOUP-er rainy (see what I did there?) here in Charlotte this week, and this was the perfect meal!
4. Mini bagels with cream cheese and cotton candy grapes…my kids’ tastes change like the weather, and apparently we don’t like eggs this week. This random purchase from the grocery store has restored peace to weekday breakfast. They eat them without nagging, they do not require wiping up milk puddles, and they travel well when we run late…which is every day. I know this seems pretty dull, but sometimes just a new idea can totally change the way the mornings go.
5. On Cloud X sneakers…holy comfy! I wear my shoes hard, and I was ready for a new pair, so I thought I’d try something new for a change. These are amazingly comfortable and light…I got the cross trainers in black and sized up 1/2 a size! If you are in the market for new sneaks, I highly recommend! Love the white ones too!
Your turn! What are you loving this month?
