This past week, I had the pleasure of meeting a resident of The Links at River Run and touring his home. If you aren’t familiar with The Links, as many people aren’t, it is a small subset of homes within River Run with a unique home buyer in mind. The Links has its own HOA within the primary HOA for the River Run community and has its own set of rules and regulations that make this small pocket of homes appeal to a specific group of buyers who enjoy peaceful, quiet, maintenance free living, but who do not wish to sacrifice the larger living space and freedoms associated with living outside of a 55+ community. There is an additional monthly property association fee associated with living in The Links, which enables these homes to be maintenance free with weekly yard maintenance provided by the association. The Links also prohibits swimming pools, playground equipment, swing sets, and basketball backboards, encouraging a quiet lifestyle for its residents.
The Links remains home to approximately 15 original owners who have been happy with their peaceful lifestyle here in Davidson. The homes are spacious and well-planned for mainly first floor living, with ample guest and flexible space upstairs that can be utilized as needed. While some yards offer picturesque golf course views, others are tree-lined with wooded views. All are maintenance free. A resident stated that homes in The Links “appeal to people who are maybe early in their retirement who aren’t ready for a 55+ community…people who have family that visits frequently who may need the extra space. We built our home here, and we’ve been very happy here. We love the peace and quiet.” He has enjoyed having the space to entertain neighbors and friends, including large groups, as well as have plenty of space to host family gatherings and have children and grandchildren stay for extended visits. He also went on, though, to emphasize that he loves that most of the time, it’s very quiet.
The Links at River Run is a small and unique community within the larger subdivision as whole, providing a specific type of lifestyle to a unique niche of buyers.
